Portobello and beef patties (adapted from Eating Well)

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 c. portobello mushroom, finely chopped and gills removed (~2 caps)
  • 3 Tbs. breadcrumbs
  • 1 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 to 2 tsp. fresh thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. sea salt
  • 1/8 to 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper or cayenne

Mix the beef, mushrooms, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire, thyme, salt, and pepper.  Shape into small, very thin patties.  Broil until cooked through (~4 to 6 min).
